Day One - The first getaway of the year - a short birthday trip to some sun and a meet up with the Dubai Urban Sketchers today who meet every week!

A great bunch of people - it was a pleasure to meet them around the old city and the creek - a real contrast to a sketch this morning around Dubai Marina where I’m staying!

Day 2 - a late breakfast and a sketch of some skyscrapers overlooking the marina. After a look around Dubai Mall and the outside of Burj Khalifa - the world’s tallest structure, back to the interesting creek area to see some old and new additions to the city - a sketch of both of these areas.

Day Three - A relaxing day at the beach (for my birthday) along the JBR Walk followed by an early evening visit to the 124th floor of the tallest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa.
